Many Hae-eo-hwas(Gisaeng) in the cards were selected mainly among real people, but please excuse that some gisaengs from the folktales were not actually existed even though they are really famous. (We used five pages for Hwang Jin-yi, who has a lot of references.) Also, a small number of gisaengs from the late Goryeo Dynasty to the early Joseon Dynasty are included.

BASED ON REAL STORIES ◆ Hae-eo-hwa, the word which means ‘flower that understands language’, refers to Korean gisaeng. This indicates that gisaengs were not just the beautiful women who sold alcohol and laughter, but talented people who could communicate with the intellectuals of the time.

PLEASE NOTE ◆ The main characters on the cards are women. They were real people, and you can see their lives and histories.
